On the B.C. coast, the water level can swing several metres between high and low tide. A ramp that's safe at high water can be dangerously steep at low water if it isn't sized right. Here's how we get it right for your site:
- Measure your tidal range. How far the water rises and falls at your site sets how far the ramp or gangway has to travel.
- Survey the shoreline. We look at slope, rock, foreshore and where the shore landing can go — on-site, or from photos and charts for remote locations.
- Set the length and articulation. We size the span so the walk to your dock stays safe and comfortable at both high and low tide.
- Match it to your dock. Finish, decking and hardware are matched to your dock so the two read as one system.
